Andusia win new contract to Germany
Andusia has successfully negotiated a long term contract with MHKW Rothensee for a period of 10 years, and are delighted to have secured a contract with such a prestigious CHP partner.
MHKW Rothensee plant started operating in June 2005 and processes 650,000 tonnes per year of waste. From this waste the plant generates 370,000 MWh of power and 350,000MWh of district heating that supplies local households and businesses in the Magdeburg area.
Rolf Oesterhoff, Commercial Managing Director at MHKW commented on the new partnership, “We are really proud to start a good long-term business relationship with one of UK’s largest independent exporters by signing a 10 year contract.
The reason why we made the choice to have Andusia Recovered Fuels Limited as a partner is quite simple; their knowledge in the UK-Market, their expertise in the RDF export business and of course the great team behind Andusia.”
MHKW shareholders are EEW Energy from Waste and SWM Magdeburg. EEW is already a well-established offtake partner for Andusia and this contract solidifies this relationship further.
The signing of the contract took place in an unusual location, an Indian restaurant in Birmingham during the RWM Exhibition at the NEC. It was definitely a first for both companies, and one that will be remembered!
This contract confirms Andusia’s commitment to continue to develop their position in the RDF export market with well-respected offtake partners in Europe.
