Andusia RDF Bales Stretch To It’s (Almost!) Namesake – Andalusia

At the end of last year, Andusia reported they had exported enough RDF bales, that end-to-end, would stretch from London to Rome. Now, three months on, Andusia’s RDF exports have stretched even further to the region of Andalusia in Spain. The origin of Andusia’s company name.

Andusia was launched in 2012 by Director’s Steve Burton and Stewart Brackenbury. With a combined 40+ years of experience in the waste industry, they saw an opportunity in the developing market of RDF export. The company’s name originated from Stewart’s holiday that year in sunny and picturesque Andalusia!

Since then, Andusia haven’t looked back, growing to be one of the UK’s largest independent exporters of RDF across Europe, celebrating many milestones over the years. In 2016, Andusia were awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade – the first such award given to a business in the RDF export sector.

Seven years on, Andusia have now exported 1,200,000 tonnes of RDF waste to Energy from Waste plants across Europe. Diverting it from UK landfill and generating electricity and heat for local residents and businesses in Northern Europe and Scandinavia.

Andusia have developed a strong supply base of professional UK waste management companies; and have established long lasting relationships with some of the largest Energy from Waste plants in Europe, all of which have been vital to the success of Andusia to date.

More recently, Andusia announced they are using their expertise in the RDF field to begin export of SRF, and hazardous and clinical waste.
