Andusia Top News Stories in 2020

As this (very unusual!) year comes to an end, we’re looking back at the top 5 news stories for Andusia.

At number 5…

In October, Andusia announced they have partnered up with Barking based RDF producer, McGrath Group. The new contract marked a long standing relationship between the two waste businesses and sees 12,000 tonnes per annum being sent to Fortum, Oslo.

In at number 4…

In June, Andusia extended their bulk shipping contract with combined heat and power plant ARC (Amager Ressourcecenter), at their “Copenhill’ facility, based in Copenhagen. The original 15,000 tonne RDF agreement was extended to 30,000 tonnes per annum for the next two years. The contract will see Andusia supply plastic reduced RDF, also known as Low Carbon Waste.

Making the top 3…

Andusia announced they are confirmed as the sole waste supplier to the largest clinical waste treatment plant built in the UK for 20 years, on the site of a previous biomass facility site in Stoke-on-Trent. From Autumn 2021, Andusia will be supplying up to 16,000 tonnes per annum of hazardous and clinical waste for high temperature treatment under a long-term contract.

At number 2…

Back in August this year, we welcomed Simon Little to the team as new Commercial Director. With the rapid growth of the UK EfW market, Simon has been responsible for sourcing and managing the RDF supply contracts in the UK for both the export and new UK EfW market.

And at the top spot, in at number 1…

Early this year, Andusia revealed they are to be the sole waste supplier to a new Energy from Waste (EfW) plant, under construction in Newport, South Wales. Andusia will be supplying a minimum of 220,000 tonnes of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) per annum under a 25 year deal. Construction of the Alexandra Docks plant started early this year and is scheduled for completion in early 2022.

Thank you for your continued support throughout 2020 and we look forward to sharing more news with you in 2021. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Andusia team!
