Andusia are happy to report that the first shipment from Beauparc Business, Associated Waste Management in Leeds to a cement facility in Spain was delivered on 6th August 2021.
The cement plant is a global building materials company that provides high quality products and reliable service to customers and communities in more than 50 countries. This plant has become one of the leading users of alternative fuels in the cement industry in Spain. They have replaced traditional fossil fuels, such as petcoke, and coal with those that have a lower carbon emission factor and carbon neutral alternatives, such as biomass residues. That’s where we come in. We are providing SRF (an alternative fuel) which is used to produce energy essential for cement production.
This contributes to the cement plants efforts to reaching their worldwide target to increase their use of alternative fuels, as well as their mission of reducing their net CO2 emissions by the year 2030. The collaboration allows for the reduction in Carbon tax for the cement plant, thanks to the use of SRF and alternative fuels over fossil fuels.
This delivery marks the first transfer of many to the new Spanish facility as Andusia are set to deliver an initial 5000 tonnes of SRF per annum.
