Malvern Reopens After Major Refit
Clinitek’s Malvern hazardous waste incinerator, based in Worcestershire, has been reopened this week after a significant investment, undergoing a major refit project. The plant, developed by Waste Energy Partners, started accepting waste in March 2021, and recently closed for plant improvements.
The large investment in improving the plant was undertaken to ensure the plant operates as lean as possible and to run at maximum capacity. Works included replacing the refractory lining in the burner to improve air flow, and in turn combustion.
The state-of-the-art facility was developed to safely and effectively treat clinical and other hazardous waste streams, namely from the private healthcare sector.
Andusia are the sole supplier to Malvern, supplying 8,000 tonnes of hazardous and clinical waste per year. You can find a list of EWC codes and the type of waste accepted at Malvern here on our website.
