Why not Bale and Wrap?
The UK Government’s tax on landfill increases year on year – 2023 will be no different, in fact due to inflation hitting a 40-year high, we’ll see a huge jump. Next April, landfill tax will increase in line with the Retail Price Index, which could see an increase of as much as £10 per tonne. Putting landfill tax in the hundreds for the first time.
With current landfill tax standing at £98.60 per tonne, then taking site gate fees and transport into consideration – we can all agree that landfill is an extremely unattractive prospect for those in the waste management industry.
Of course, the objective of landfill tax is to encourage a switch to more sustainable alternatives of waste disposal. That is where Andusia comes in!
Andusia collects RDF from waste management companies in the UK and deliver it for recovery at Energy from Waste (EfW) plants across Europe, producing electricity and heating for the local area. An alternative that not only offers environmental advantages, but also financial savings.
RDF waste must be baled and wrapped, so you’ll need to invest in baler and wrapping technology if you haven’t already. The initial outlay of buying such equipment might initially deter you but see just how quickly it pays for itself using our cost of ownership tool.
There has never been a better time to consider investment. The waste export industry isn’t going anywhere, with industry experts predicting RDF export continuing to thrive over the next decade.
Andusia are at the forefront of EfW, working with leading plants throughout Europe. We offer a competitive, fully collected service of waste in curtain siders, containers or walking floors and work closely with a number of dependable hauliers. Andusia also fulfil all the required paperwork. If you are a waste producer, we can certainly help you.
Andusia now also offer a 100% recyclable wrap, suitable for all bale wrappers on the market – 15% cheaper than the alternative suppliers.
