Andusia Continue to Accept POP Waste

Did you know that Andusia can accept your POP waste in our RDF waste collection? In September last year, the Environment Agency (EA) issued new guidance on how councils should manage soft furnishings containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) which came into effect at the start of 2023.

POPs are chemical substances that do not break down in the environment, they are found in soft furnishings such as sofas, armchairs, office furniture and foot stools. They can travel long distances and build up in the bodies of plants and animals, and as such, they are a danger to human health and the environment.

All POPs now must be incinerated and sent to an R1 facility for such processes. The good news is, Andusia exports to all R1 facilities and can include POPs in our waste collection to be used to energy.

Working with leading plants throughout the UK and Europe, we offer a competitive, fully collected service of waste in curtain siders, containers or walking floors. Get in touch with Andusia today to discuss your RDF waste supply with confidence on 01992 666257 or email us at enquiries@andusia.co.uk.
