Thank you for visiting us at RWM!

What another fantastic year at RWM 2018.

Andusia were once again proud to exhibit at this annual industry event seeing leaders from the Waste, Energy, Recycling and Water sectors come together with a total of 450 exhibitors, and which saw over 14,000 visitors on the first day alone. Thank you to everyone who took the time out to visit us on our stand, it was good to see lots of old friends, but also meet many new people. What are the consequences of a no-deal Brexit on the waste industry?

This month, Andusia’s Managing Director, Steve Burton attended DEFRA’s seminar discussing the latest and potential regulations for what could occur in the event of a no-deal Brexit.  The objective of the seminar was to outline the purpose of the Withdrawal Act and the implications that a no-deal Brexit may have on the export of waste and RDF. What are the benefits of baling and wrapping your waste?

Each year the UK sends approximately 12million tonnes of waste to landfill. For each tonne you contribute to landfill you pay £88 in landfill tax, plus a gate fee and transportation costs, however, there is an alternative that not only offers environmental advantages but also financial savings for you!

Your waste could be collected and sent for recovery across the UK and Europe where it will be used in EfW plants to produce heating and energy. (more…)

Andusia Exhibit at RWM Exhibition Once Again

Can the UK handle an additional 3.6million tonnes of material in landfill?

This week, the RDF Industry Group has published a report detailing the effects Brexit could have on the RDF Industry. In summary, the report states that if Brexit were to damage the UK’s RDF export market then the result would be, the almost impossible task of, the UK having to find the space for some 3.6million tonnes of additional material going to landfill.

Although Andusia is not of the opinion that Brexit will have an impact on the RDF industry, it does support the initiative for the UK government to not only support continued RDF export but also growth in the UK waste and energy market. (more…)

Andusia’s Response to Lets Recycle Article

This month, Lets Recycle, published an article claiming that the RDF market is continuing to plateau. Andusia can confirm that its business continues to perform well in these established markets.  However, the RDF export market to Europe still offers many opportunities in other areas of Europe that are still growing. Recent figures show that there is growing capacity in Germany and Sweden where there is a drive to expand new and existing facilities. (more…)
