Wisbech EFW Facility
Turning Waste Into
Renewable Energy
DELIVERING CLEAN ENERGY FROM WASTE IN THE EAST OF ENGLAND
Andusia will supply 100,000 tonnes of residual waste per year under a landmark 10-year agreement with MVV Environment Medworth Ltd. Located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, the facility will convert non-recyclable waste into electricity and steam for industry and the grid.
Project Overview
The Medworth EfW facility is designed to divert over half a million tonnes of non-recyclable waste every year from landfill. Once operational, it will generate over 50 MW of electricity, with the additional capacity to supply steam to local industry. Construction represents a major investment and will support hundreds of jobs; once operational the facility offers a long-term outlet for residues that might otherwise be landfilled or exported.
