Andusia secures RDF supply deal with Hadleys

Andusia has signed a supply contract for refuse-derived fuel (RDF) with Berkshire-based Hadleys, further strengthening its customer base in the south of England.

The agreement, which will start in January 2025, will see more than 10,000 tonnes of RDF collected from the customer’s Thale site for export to Germany via Andusia’s road haulage network.

The deal also marks Hadleys’ entry into the waste export market for the first time as it seeks a more reliable and cost-effective solution for landfill diversion.

As part of this strategy, the company is investing in new equipment at its premises to bale and wrap the waste to ensure quality standards are met while maximising processing and logistical efficiencies.

Hadley’s is part of the  part of the Claude Fenton Group and offers various waste management services including skip hire and recycling. It also provides bulk fill materials for construction, soils and wood chip for biomass.

“We are delighted to be working with Hadleys, they are a new supplier for us and one of the longest established management companies in the Thames Valley area,” said Mark Terrell, director of Andusia.

He added: ““We continue to see growing interest from companies like Hadleys in the export market as it can offer them a long-term secure outlet for their waste management needs, especially against the backdrop of rising landfill taxes in the UK.”

Last year Andusia reported a record year, exporting more than 400,000 tonnes of RDF to customers in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France and Holland. Since its inception in 2012, Andusia has exported over 2.5 million tonnes of RDF to European markets.
