Andusia has entered a three-year refuse-derived fuel (RDF) supply agreement with Energnist, a waste-to-energy company in Western Denmark.
Under the contract, which begins in November 2025, Andusia will supply 10,000 tonnes of RDF per year to Energnist’s facility in Esbjerg.
The Esbjerg plant processes over 215,000 tonnes of waste annually, generating 570,000 MWh of heat and 150,000 MWh of electricity, contributing to the region’s sustainable energy supply.
The facility has recently pre-qualified for Danish Energy Agency support for carbon capture and storage (CCS), and Energnist is now advancing plans to establish full-scale CCS operations in the coming years as part of its wider decarbonisation strategy.
Andusia Director, Mark Terrell, said: “This is yet another example of how we are supporting customers as they embark on more ambitious decarbonisation strategies, and we are delighted to be working with Energnist on this journey.
“By supplying quality fuel over an extended period to facilities like these, we can help companies maintain feedstock security while ensuring the communities they serve benefit from sustainable heat and power.”
