Andusia Top News Stories in 2018!
As the year comes to an end, we’re looking back at the top 5 news stories for Andusia this year.
At number 5…
Andusia exported their first consignment of SRF. This is Andusia’s first SRF contract, to a Mediterranean plant, and the process has proven to be a success. Solid Recovered Fuel, or SRF, is a higher quality alternative to RDF. The fuel consists of smaller fractions with a higher energy content. The higher calorific value means it is suitable for use in cement kiln facilities. Read more here.

Andusia on the RDF market post Brexit. This year, Mark Terrell, Andusia Director, presented at SMi’s Energy from Waste Conference in London. Andusia sign contract with Mick George. In November, Andusia were pleased to announce it has recently signed a new contract with RDF producer, Mick George. Mick George Ltd is one of the UKs leading suppliers of cost-effective waste management solutions to the commercial, trade and residential markets, with landfill sites, waste transfer stations and quarries across the country. Andusia move into the hazardous waste market. In December, Andusia announced that they are moving into the hazardous waste market in addition to the RDF market which they have been so well known for over the past 6 and a half years, and more recently, SRF. Read more here.

Andusia celebrate 1 millionth tonne of RDF. In February this year Andusia celebrated an exciting milestone by collecting their millionth tonne of RDF waste to be sent to Europe for recovery. Since Andusia’s launch in 2012, the company has grown to be one of the UKs largest independent exporters of RDF across Europe. Read more here.
