Andusia continues its run of contract wins by signing a supply deal for refuse-derived fuel (RDF) with a new customer, Suffolk-based VC Cooke.
The 12-month agreement will see 15,000 tonnes of RDF exported via road from VC Cooke’s Beccles site to Germany and Holland. The baled waste will be supplied to various energy-from-waste plant operators in the region and used as fuel for electricity and heat generation.
Family-run firm VC Cooke offers both domestic and commercial customers a range of recycling services covering the counties of Suffolk and Norfolk. With an 18-acre site, the company claims to operate the largest waste management site in the East Anglia area.
“We are delighted to add VC Cooke to our growing network of RDF suppliers, they are an award-winning waste operator and pride themselves on offering an excellent level of service to customers. This win also helps consolidates Andusia’s position as the leading RDF exporter in the south east of England,” said Mark Terrell, director of Andusia.
Ileana Radu, managing director of VC Cooke, added: “This is our first venture into RDF export and we very much look forward to partnering with Andusia as we look to take a more sustainable approach to treating our residual waste.”
