Dutch firm Twence scoops Andusia Green Customer Award

The Green Award is apt due to the Dutch operator’s focus on carbon capture technology at its EfW plant in Hengelo in the east Netherlands.

Twence has implemented a carbon capture and utilisation initiative at the facility to reduce CO2 emissions from its operations, commissioning a modular carbon capture and liquefaction plant that utilises Aker Carbon Capture and SLB Capturi’s Just Catch technology.

The solution is is designed to capture up to 100,000 metric tonnes of CO2 each year from the flue gases produced during waste incineration.  The CO2 produced is of food-grade quality and will be transported to nearby greenhouses to help increase the yield of flowers and vegetables.
