Andusia are proud to sponsor ‘The Cam Clean-up’ in Cambridge, being held on Saturday 28th September 2019.
Re-development of Clinitek’s Malvern hazardous waste incinerator commenced in March 2019 and is now well under way. The plant is expected to be fully operation in Q1 2020.
The original site was built in 1972 and operated until 1992, before being acquired by Clinitek in February 2019. The fully refurbished building and new ‘state of the art’ processing plant will use clinical waste as fuel in a modern, energy recovery process.
Andusia have launched a series of films aimed at those in the waste industry including MRF’s, EfW facilities and UK plant developers. The films have been created to show what happens behind-the-scenes to the UK’s waste when it is converted into RDF, from collection all the way through to export and recovery at Energy from Waste facilities across Europe.
This month, Tradebe announced their Rochester facility had expanded capacity by 50%, increasing the UK’s clinical waste capacity. This is good news for those in the industry, particularly after the recent collapse of Healthcare Environmental Services (HES). However, this does not deal with the real issue which is a lack of clinical waste incineration capacity and it is Andusia’s opinion that there is still a lot more to be done to bridge the capacity gap and ensure disposal of such waste is carried out in the safest manner.
The Andusia team will be visiting this year’s RWM event at the NEC, Birmingham on 11th and 12th September. Directors, Steve Burton, Stewart Brackenbury and Mark Terrell will be attending the event, alongside Commercial Manager Chris May and our Hazardous Waste Manager, Fraser Cutting.
