CIWM Report explores the future of trading RDF

The CIWM (Chartered Institute of Waste Management) have published a report entitled ‘RDF Trading in a Modern World’ exploring the range of factors shaping the future of exporting RDF, including the possible impact of Brexit.

The report highlighted findings from SLR Consulting, that the UK is likely to see a reduction in RDF exports due to new domestic EfW capacity and increased recycling rates. Andusia do not share the view that UK EfW plants will replace RDF exports, but it is evident that new UK EfW plants will replace the most expensive disposal option of landfill.

Andusia Export SRF to European Plant

Andusia is pleased to announce that last month they exported their first consignment of SRF to a Mediterranean plant. This is Andusia’s first SRF contract and the process has proven to be a success.

Solid Recovered Fuel, or SRF, is a higher quality alternative to RDF. The fuel consists of smaller fractions with a higher energy content. The higher calorific value means it is suitable for use in cement kiln facilities. SRF waste is largely used across Europe to power cement kilns. Without the use of such a recovered fuel, the cement industry would no longer be a competitive or viable business.  SRF directly replaces fossil fuels such as Petcoke and coal, and offers an excellent environmentally friendly alternative.

Andusia to attend the RDF Conference 2018

Andusia Recovered Fuels will be attending this year’s RDF Conference at the Congress Centre, London. The event will take place on 29thNovember 2018, and Directors, Stewart Brackenbury, and Mark Terrell, will be attending the event.

The RDF Conference, now in it’s fifth year,has established itself as one of the key must-attend conferences for all those operating in the RDF, SRF and Energy from Waste sectors. Featuring conversations on market trends, changing European markets and implications of Brexit, the event is not to be missed.

Andusia Promote Victoria Tallant

Andusia is pleased to announce that Victoria Tallant has been promoted to Commercial Assistant Manager.

Victoria joined us in December 2017 as Compliance Administrator working in the Operations and Logistics department. Responsible for TFS applications, live shipments and reporting, she quickly established herself as a valuable member of the Andusia team.

Going forward, Victoria will be working with logistics companies to agree new and effective solutions for RDF export. Victoria will also be working alongside the sales team, building relationships with our customers.
